Alla (71) and Vyacheslav (79), Krymskaya embankment, Moscow

Vyacheslav: I worked in Research Institute, and then for the ministry. Alla: I’ve worked in a data center for almost all of my life.

For the last 30 years we have been living in Arbat district. It’s our native area. We have moved many times, but finally returned back to Arbat.

Our favourite places are those within reach by foot. We get here from Gogolevsky boulevard. Sometimes we even make a walk to Vorobyovy Gory (Sparrow Hills). Novodevichiye Prydi (ponds) is definitely in our list of must-see places, you can find us there in spring we often feed the ducks. Every year we visit Kolomenskoye park - there is huge apple tree garden, and it blooms beautifully for the several days.

There is common stereotype about life after retirement, but we should admit it’s not that bad (both laughing).

I am a big fan of swimming. There’s an art college nearby, they have a nice fitness center, and I’ve been attending it’s swimming section for several years already. We like Nordic walking too.

Our couple enjoys exhibitions, we’ve been to Raphael exhibition in Pushkinskiy museum some time ago. Thanks to Veteran centre we can afford numerous types of entertainment as they provide us with reduced price tickets. There are also social service centres that arrange excursions for elderly. With their assistance we visited Ostafyevo estate in September and it was truly beautiful.
